Paolo De Martin


He graduated in architecture in Venice with a thesis on the urban and architectural redevelopment of the Venice railway station (110/110 cum laude). From 1984 to 1988 he collaborated first with Professor Valeriano Pastor in Venice and then with several Brunico professional studies; participates in architectural competitions with several awarded projects. With professor Valeriano Pastor he works on the general and executive project for the school in Dolo (VE). He deals in particular with the design of wooden structures and facades. In 1990 he opened the studio in Brunico: he designed and built residential complexes for public buildings with low energy needs, renovations of public buildings and wooden constructions (200 housing units). From 1995 he is provincial expert on urban planning and landscape protection for the building commissions of Corvara, Egna and Selva Gardena; becomes a member of the College for the protection of the landscape of the Province of Bolzano and for the Order of Architects of BZ, editor of the magazine "Turris Babel". In 2002 he won the CNA prize "Archi legno" with the project for the Brunico bowling alley, awarded as best public architecture in Trentino Alto Adige, for the public works category, a work published in the most important architecture magazines in the wood sector. of sustainable architecture. In 2004 he won the 2nd prize for the new Brunico Civic Library and designed the "Flora" wooden house for the Rubner company. With this project he won the 2006 PRO WOOD AWARD award, curated by the European Institute of Wood in Rosenheim, as the best low-energy European solid wood architecture (certified by Casa Clima A plus) Since 2004 he actively collaborates with the Rubner company and other companies for the design of wooden buildings; is included in the public register of trusted technicians responsible for the Province of Bolzano's project. In 2005 he coordinates with the architect Peter Zumthor the seminar "building in the landscape", organized by the Province of Bolzano, landscape protection office. In 2007 the wooden house project "Flora" was published in the CASABELLA ALMANACCO, Italian architects 2006 and in the international architecture magazine "DETAIL". Since 2006 he has been the official lecturer for the Casa Clima Agency of the Province of Bolzano for the courses "Houses with low energy needs, buildings and materials", "CONSTRUCTION IN WOOD", "Design Workshop"; "Corso raised in wood". It carries out training activities and scientific participation in conferences, seminars and trade fairs on a national and international level on behalf of the ClimateHouse Agency and other bodies. Since 2002 he is an energy consultant for the CasaClima agency and provides technical consultancy for designers, private individuals, companies and public bodies. In 2010 he designed and built a building for administrative offices in solid wood in L'Aquila. Since 2006 he has been a Master lecturer for the BUILD IN WOOD courses for the LIGNUS consortium, the CLIMABITA agency and ARCA of Trentino. Since 2010 he has designed and built several public and private buildings with low energy requirements, in Italy and abroad, including, the first CasaClima Oro in Sardinia (Silanus), a residential wooden building on the sea in Genoa (Gold), two residential settlements for 28 lodgings for the ACER Emilia Romagna in the province of Bologna (class A), a villa in Gold class in Isola della Scala (VR), a wooden Hotel in Selva Gardena (CasaClima Hotel A Nature) a residential building Gold - Nature Passive in Montebelluna, the energy restoration of the CAI mountain refuge at Kronplatz.
