A barn dating back to the '60s in Collina di Palesio, in the province of Bologna, has been transformed by Ciclostile Architecture into a place of work for the artist
The needs of the customer are reflected in design gestures that are in line with the essence of the building, which is of no particular architectural value but interesting for the spaces it can potentially accommodate
The planimetric distribution envisages all the main and service areas on the ground floor, to completely free up the first floor and dedicate it to a large open space overlooking the greenery, exploiting the existing heights to obtain a bright and airy environment
Another fundamental element of the project is typified by its symmetry. The structural form of the property on the ground floor is determined by a structure framed in reinforced concrete with two rows of pillars that indicate the layout. Starting from the step of the pillars to re-proportion the rooms as needed
The layout is thus divided into three, two larger rooms with a workshop and a study, and a third dedicated to services, which becomes a filter strip between the two main rooms
A third fundamental aspect of the project is the connection with the landscape, sought through a greater visual connection. This aspect actually results in the modification of the elevations or in the creation of large openings to increase the internal-external connection in the room on the first floor
