ALPHAVILLE Architects, founded in 1998 and located in Kyoto, Japan, is an award-winning design studio, directed by Asako Yamamoto and Kentaro Takeguchi. Kentaro Takeguchi, before founding ALPHAVILLE Architects, graduated from Kyoto University, at the Faculty of Engineering, in 1994, trained at the Architectural Association School of Architecture of the U.K., obtained a master's degree in Architecture again at Kyoto University. Since 2012 he is the Director of the Architectural Design Association Nippon and is the protagonist of conferences at Ritsumeikan University. Asako Yamamoto also graduated from Kyoto University, Faculty of Engineering, in 1994, and continued his studies at the Ecole d'Architecture in Paris, France. After obtaining a master's degree in Architecture from Kyoto University, in 1997, he worked at Riken Yamamoto & Field Shop, then founded ALPHAVILLE Architects in 1998 with Kentaro Takeguchi. Also Asago is the protagonist of conferences at Kyoto University and the Osaka Institute of technology
