An urban void designed with joy and colour in mind

12 Apartments is a project designed to fill an urban void in the municipality of Badalona, province of Barcelona. In its project, the architectural group BCQ preserves the cheerfulness and the colour of the neighbourhood's façades

Before the intervention by the Barcelona-based company BCQ , the urban void in question was simply an unfinished piece of the city. 12 Apartments, the project intended to fill this void, preserves the happiness and the colours of the façades of the neighbourhood, with its modest architecture

An urban void designed with joy and colour in mind

Integrating the building's façade and its public space was one of the main challenges of the project. The building's large façade is the same colour as the pavement of the square, almost as if it were a horizontal extension of the square

On the ground floor, the project offers different local and commercial uses. The trees and playground on the ground floor allow the place to be enjoyed by different age groups. The tree grids are metallic and round, and recall the windows of the building, which are also metallic but square
