Abyss Horizon Coffee Table, in edition 2023, is the latest addition to designer Christopher Duffy's Abyss collection. From the study of depth and the human perception of it, the Abyss Horizon uses the interaction of light and various layers of natural Birchwood coloring along with sculpted blue glass to forge a fascinating three-dimensional canvas. The result is reminiscent of our perception of water, as we watch its color transform at different depths

Abyss Horizon is a downward-facing eye-catching coffee table design that evokes blue-turquoise marine depths and seems to float effortlessly above free space
The perceived color change, becomes the element that gives true meaning to the piece, evoking a grand ocean topography, and transforming the flowing design into an expressive object. For the 2023 edition, three curved legs support a shaped base section that seems to collapse downward. The free space around the edges of the table focuses the senses and enhances the view of the great floating abyss, with a colossal chasm in the center
The Duffy London design studio is now able to offer the table with the base carved from a single block of white Carrara marble. Each piece is designed and made by hand. In addition to different finish options, the table will also be made in two sizes, 120 cm diameter and 140 cm diameter
