Castellators, the glass tower that shines like a diamond

Glass is the main material in Castellators, the residential and office tower in Nijmegen, the Netherlands: the more prominent niches reflect the outside light more strongly, making the building look like a diamond silhouetted against the sky

Exactly at the intersection of Nijmegen's city entrance, Graafseweg and the railway, Moke architecten erects a residential and office tower. The glazed envelope is completely soundproofed: 13 layers of flat, semi-flat and very deep indents that reflect the outside light

The interiors are extremely welcoming and the 10-meter high entrance lobby is the living room for all residents: benches, chairs, tables, plants and open niches furnish the space. Each niche, with its differently colored walls, is properly lit.

If the building is welcoming inside, outside the facade shines like a diamond: the glass of the most protruding niches reflects more strongly and has a more intense color. The facade is also enriched with a number of panels and they are printed with a pattern
