Thai Binh House is a house surrounded by farmlands, orchards, vegetable gardens and rice crops, which is tailored to the habits of its users, an elderly couple who make their living from farming

The Thai Binh House project is located in the countryside adjacent to Thai Binh City, where most of the population is engaged in agriculture and rice cultivation, and the architecture consists of 1- and 2-story houses. Chu Ngoc Anh Architects revolves its concept around the lifestyle of its clients, an elderly couple living off their work

Very important criteria for the design were natural ventilation, good lighting, low energy consumption, and reuse of rainwater for daily living. The house provides three sides with open views of the garden and pond, and the main facade is located on the west. The design of Thai Binh House aimed not to disrupt the existing: the main white block is in the same place as the old house, contrasting with the red brick block with vertical rotation

Most people in the countryside have to plant, harvest, and dry rice, so a large multi-purpose courtyard is a must-have feature for rural houses: this is a space where people connect with nature and their families with local villages and communities. Chu Ngoc Anh Architects has arranged a veranda as a buffer space between the interior and exterior of the house located at the front of the house to the west, reducing the heat of the living room through the shade of trees

The use of "tree curtains" which block the sun and radiation helps to better regulate the temperature while providing ventilation, it also softens the architectural space, helping people connect with nature. The need to connect the house with a large patio while ensuring a wide view led the team to use a wooden revolving door system with maximum opening capacity
