Christos Pavlou Architecture
Nicosia, Cyprus
A sensitive approach, between formal simplicity and context
Founded in 2003 in Nicosia, Cyprus, Christos Pavlou Architecture is an architecture studio that, while maintaining a small scale, stands out for the personal care given to each client. The practice focuses on single-family residential projects, commercial spaces, and interior architecture, with a careful approach to the environmental context, climatic conditions, and specific site characteristics. Each project stems from deep listening, a process of research and continuous learning, and a conscious and respectful design.
Award-winning projects focusing on sustainability and cultural identity
The studio's style is characterized by formal simplicity, the integration of interior and exterior spaces, and attention to "in-between zones" capable of creating smooth transitions. The design language is based on essential forms that evoke local collective memory, without proposing prefabricated solutions but leaving room for discovery during the creative process. Energy efficiency, smart technologies, and sustainability are key elements in the working method. The studio has received significant international recognition, including the Cyprus State Architecture 1st Prize Award 2019, nomination for the Mies van der Rohe Award 2021, the German Design Award 2020, and the double A+Architizer Awards 2020 in the United States.
