AZPML is an international practice, based in London and New York. AZPML was born in 2011 as a legacy practice of FOA, after its dissolution, and follows former FOA’s partner Alejandro Zaera-Polo, in partnership with Maider Llaguno since 2013. AZPML architecture has a commitment to innovation in architecture and urban design, combining technical innovation with design excellence across programs and geographies. In practice since 1991, Alejandro Zaera-Polo’s award-winning projects included the Yokohama International Cruise Terminal in Japan, noted for its use of dramatic form, innovative materials, and fascination with the interplay of architecture, landscape, and nature. The incorporation of Maider Llaguno as a partner in the practice in 2013 has reinforced the customary interest in technology with her scientific approach to architecture and her technical skills. A young and international workforce form the ethics and the style of AZPML. The practice has a wide variety of projects which gravitate around public projects, but refuses to specialize on a single type: transportation, education, retail or cultural facilities. Offices for public bodies and social housing are part of AZPML commitment to architecture as a public asset
