Marià Castelló Arquitecture
Camino Vell a la Mola, 2585, 07871, Illes Balears, Spagna
The Marià Castelló Arquitectura studio was founded in 2002 on the island of Formentera by architect Marià Castelló Martínez (born in 1976). From the very beginning, the studio has maintained a small-scale structure, operating as an artisanal workshop that develops a limited number of projects each year, enabling a measured and intense approach to each work.
The deep connection with Formentera has driven the studio’s desire to intervene consciously and meaningfully in the local context. The richness of the island's natural and architectural substrate, along with its beauty, austerity, humility, and sincerity, are values that permeate the works conceived by the studio. This connection is reflected in an approach that embraces various disciplines, including heritage, landscape, residences, public buildings, interior and product design, sustainability, research, and teaching.
Over the years, the studio’s work has been recognized at a European level, earning numerous awards and accolades. Among these are the nomination for the Mies van der Rohe Award of the European Union in 2022, the Ramon Llull Award of the Balearic Islands in 2023, and the International "Architecture Master Prize '23" for the project "CENF – Centro de Deportes Náuticos de Formentera."
Currently, the team consists of two architects, with the addition of Lorena Ruzafa in 2017. This modest structure allows the studio to maintain an artisanal approach, focused on quality and intensity in every intervention, while respecting and enhancing the cultural and natural heritage of Formentera.
