"rundzwei is a modern architectural office by the two founders Andreas Reeg and Marc Dufour-Feronce. rundzwei considers Research anDesign as two central parameters for a sound sustainable and modern architectural understanding, which combines space, materiality, resources, local history and natural environment with a sophisticated design.

Before founding rundzwei Marc Dufour-Feronce and Andreas Reeg held leading positions working for international renown offices such as Herzog & de Meuron, LAB architecture studio and ACME in, Switzerland, the UK and the UAE. rundzwei believes that contemporary architecture depends on the development of coherent design concepts which work not only on paper, but even more so in reality. Our design concepts are the product of a thought-through research process which integrates space, materials, local history and contexts. While we aim to contextualise architecture we challenge the existing, reinterpret modernity and explore the unexpected. rundzwei filters and focuses the relevant potentials and qualities of each project to create innovative and unconventional solutions in a new contemporary form. This leads to unexpected concepts that often go beyond the scope of the actual brief and positively affect and enhance the final goal of each project and client.

We believe that sustainable architecture starts with the concept and should not exclusively rely on costly ex-post technical solutions. Therefore rundzwei integrates architectural solutions to reduce energy consumption and heat gain into the design concept of the built environment before enhancing them through technology." (rundzwei)
