Sandy Attia and Matteo Scagnol are the partners of Modus Architects, founded in 2000 after completing their university studies at Harvard University. The studio stands out for its heterogeneous approach to the field of architecture, combining the two different cultural and educational backgrounds in a platform for design ideas. Their projects vary in scale from infrastructure, to buildings, to objects within buildings, and include public, institutional and private commissions. In recent years the practice has continued to complete a series of critically acclaimed projects, including the Bressanone-Varna Tangenziale, the Pre, Asylum and Family Center of Bolzano, and the House of the Artist and Atelier in Castelrotto projects all located in Alto Adige, in Italy. Following a series of national and international awards, several new projects are underway with a wider geographical scope, a fact that is marking a change in their field of work
