HD Block is an element made of recycled high-density EPS polystyrene (200 kg/m³), specifically designed for fixing medium and light loads on external insulation systems. It allows for the direct installation of accessories and components on the insulation, without anchoring to the masonry, in accordance with UNI TR 11715 – point 10.7. It is the ideal solution for fixing shutters, outdoor lights, mailboxes, electrical boxes, pipe clamps, and other functional elements, ensuring thermal bridging absence and insulation continuity.
Compatibility and Performance
HD Block is suitable for EPS and rock wool insulation systems and can also serve as a support thickness in the presence of intermediate loads. Its high density ensures mechanical stability, long-term durability, and reliable fixing performance.
Available Sizes and Workability
The product is available in: - square version 100 × 100 mm - round version Ø 90 mm in various lengths, from 60 mm up to 1150 mm, to adapt to different insulation thicknesses. HD Block can be custom trimmed using common wood cutting tools (hand saws, circular saws) or hot wire. Reference notches are present on the bars to facilitate precise and fast cutting.
Installation Method in the Insulation System
HD Block must be inserted into the external insulation system after creating the housing by milling or trimming the insulating panel. Gluing is done directly on the panel using: - MS Powerflex 25 hybrid adhesive polymer, or - TIXOPUR F/59 thixotropic polyurethane adhesive. Complete drying of the adhesive (minimum 24 hours) is necessary before proceeding with load fixing.
Load Fixing
Once HD Block is positioned, the load (e.g., an outdoor light) can be fixed using: - wood screws without pre-drilling - self-tapping screws - turbo screws Attention: To ensure correct and secure fixing, the screw must be positioned no less than 35 mm from the edge of the HD Block element.
