The renovation project of apartment 077 Residence plays with the variety of materials and colors and their sometimes bold interactions that enhance the diversification of the spatial experience

The 250-square-meter 077 Residence occupies an entire floor of a redeveloped 1920s residential building. The property's architecture suggests a stylistic shift from art deco to functionalism, which became the inspiration for the concept proposed by Lenka Míková architects for the new interiors. It is based on timeless materials, refined details, and custom-made furniture. The goal was to provide, in an environment that is almost minimalist and suitable for contemporary living, a variety of different atmospheres and experiences

Upon entering the apartment following the renovation, one is greeted by the architectural space, pure in itself, co-starring the natural light that floods it. Advancing through the plot of the dwelling, as in an advent calendar that is discovered surprising behind each little door, each room has a different taste and mood. Each room reveals a new materiality: a dark veneered closet, a brass-clad bar, or an entire red bathroom...

The layout of the apartment is divided into three zones according to their use and degree of intimacy. The living area directly connected with an entrance hallway represents the "social" zone: it is conceived as an open, light-filled space with large windows along the street façade, providing a relaxed feeling with soft edges and shades. On one side the room is defined by fixed furniture that houses a fireplace, bookcase, hidden TV and bar cabinet; behind the large cupboard the space continues and a study is located. On the other side of the living room is the kitchen separated by a sliding glass door

The "private" area with bedrooms gives onto the rear facade and has a more intimate character. The third "threshold" area lies between these two and consists of hallways and bathrooms, each with a distinct character. A dark gray corridor leads to the guest and children's rooms and a blue guest bathroom, which is also accessible from the office. The color of the hallways continues in the bedrooms, complementing doors and built-in closets. In the master suite, the dominant tone is light gray, which envelops most of the room with wall paneling and an adjacent walk-in closet. The master bathroom has a light beige feel and enjoys natural light through a translucent glass window

The design plays with the variety of materials and colors and their sometimes bold interactions that enhance the diversification of the spatial experience. Solid stained oak flooring runs through all living areas as a soft, unifying texture. Its French laying pattern continues in the stone floor in the kitchen with custom-cut stone tiles. The apartment features a total of six different types of stone (four types of marble, black granite, and red travertine) and for some details also a precious briar and brass
