Apartment renovation in Milan: suspended transparency and linearity

A minimal design studied in detail and energized by the suspended transparency of the staircase characterizes the renovation of this 200 sqm apartment in Milan

Total aesthetic coherence and maximization of functionality

The renovation of the house, spread over the last 2 levels of the residential building where it is located, is curated by the Arkispazio studio which designs its spaces and furnishings. The comprehensive design allows for total aesthetic coherence and maximization of functionality: the project's moodboard is defined by the two shades of gray in the furnishings, the white of the walls, and the warmth of the oak floor

A large triangular glass slab floats transparently

In the extreme linearity of the design, the staircase stands out as the protagonist connecting the two floors: intentionally emphasized in the form of its structure, it stands suspended in the entrance, enhanced by the large triangular glass slab that floats transparently above it

Fluidity of spaces

The new internal layout of the apartment envisions a certain fluidity of spaces on the lower floor: here, two satin-finished glass sliding doors connect or separate the entrance, living room, and kitchen in an alternating sequence of ever-changing views. The glass of the doors, like a large lampshade, creates fascinating visual effects by playing with natural light. Upstairs, the study overlooks the large terrace adorned with plants and furnishings
