Between neutral tones and accents of color, woods and metals, ancient and new, the Arbes Square Apartment presents itself as a rental residence with an appealing aesthetic thanks to a tailored design to optimize light and space. Prague-based Formfatal studio, specialized in interior design projects, was given a blank canvas by the client for the new layout of the apartment, after architect Pavel Hnilička took care of the building permit for the renovation of the entire floor divided into 4 units

Interior design project for a captivating and timeless space

The changes from the original project are minimal even for the complexity of the attic space, the interior design project focuses on creating a timeless and unforgettable place. Being dedicated to rental, the project's focuses have also been on practicality and durability of materials. The background of the concept is a matte cream white on which shades of gray-blue and textures of various kinds are woven, including that of whitewashed wood of ancient beams, while the colors turquoise and terracotta highlight some furnishing elements

A contrasting volume creates unexpected space

A dark volume, finished in walnut, is positioned at the point where the roof is highest and encloses kitchen and bedroom furniture, while also serving as a corridor wall. To reach the upper level, a custom-made metal staircase enriches the geometries and textures of the space. A metal mesh tied to profiles in matte painted steel creates the railing; below the staircase tread, the space underneath is closed off by a mirrored metal panel that offers a unique and overwhelming play of reflections
