Sharing environments and caring for common spaces. The mindset of Aria Hub in Milan

Aria Hub is the new student house in the Ortica neighborhood in Milan, Via Pitteri 7. A Cohousing project in one of the most authentic and vibrant areas of the city, affected by redevelopment initiatives related to the world of art and design

Dainelli Studio's design for the Aria Hub involved the entire structure: an early 20th-century building developed on four levels. The first houses a communal lounge with stations for studying and chatting, and the shared laundry room. The upper floors are each occupied by two apartments, for a total of eight residences with different sizes and floor plans capable of accommodating two to four students. To reiterate the strong connection with the city, each house has been named after an area of Milan: Sempione, Cairoli, Isola, Gioia, Navigli, Brera, NoLo and Tortona

The goal of the interior design project was to create personal and customizable homes, creating environments with strong aesthetic value while respecting the constraints of a low-budget project. The definition of spaces, guided by a principle of essentiality and functionality, marks structurally similar areas with different colors, used for ceilings, fixed furniture and kitchens. The ceiling in particular, painted in different colors for each bedroom and embellished with plaster rosettes, represents one of the stylistic features that identify the Aria Hub

In the choice of materials, the designers follow a conservative approach, creating a mix of stone, parquet and pre-existing tiles from the period, alongside the new collection of ceramic surfaces Monoscopio designed precisely by Dainelli Studio for Ceramica Bardelli. Monoscopio was created by the creative duo for Aria Hub and then launched as the brand's true novelty in September 2021

For the furnishings, the designers studied a juxtaposition of modernist and other custom objects, complementing with iconic design objects.
With Aria Hub, Dainelli Studio has developed a new community project, with the intention of contributing to the enhancement of a booming neighborhood like Ortica
