House Laila, in just 50 square meters an apartment in continuous space

The architecture firm CAVAA is the protagonist of the intervention on the Laia house, a 50sqm apartment, with poorly ventilated and illuminated space, transformed into a continuous space, minimizing partition walls and creating a unique false ceiling

The ceiling as a unifying element

The project, designed by the CAVAA arquitectes studio, specialized in house renovation, stems from the idea of connecting the different spaces of the apartment through a single element, which materializes in the use of a ceiling that spans from one end to the other, overlapping existing elements and creating a continuous environment.

Before and after house renovation

The 50sqm apartment, before the renovation, had small-sized rooms, as well as being poorly lit and ventilated. The rooms were organized in such a way that activities were segregated in the spaces and there was no communication between one space and another

From partition walls to space

The new intervention preserves the house as a sequence of rooms but at the same time creates a continuous space, minimizing the use of partition walls by separating the different environments with furniture, changes in flooring patterns, or the use of sliding doors.
