Casa Z is located on one of the highest hills in Zihuatanejo, on a trapezoid-shaped plot measuring 500 square meters. For Zozaya Arquitectos, the central element of the project was the creation of a minimalist home with rich spaces dedicated to social interaction

The house consists of two terraced volumes to exploit and respect the topography. The central volume of the house consists of two juxtaposed rectangular volumes while the rectangular volume of the part serves as the main bedroom, while framing the view and creating the sensation of being suspended in the air
The rear façade facing the street is protected by a grid of vertical bamboo, providing privacy and sun protection. The intermediate level of the home serves as a social area; from this level one descends to access the terrace and the cantilevered swimming pool where the water becomes one with the horizon
The architecture uses essential materials such as cement, steel, braza stone and bamboo. This blend of local materials and construction techniques gives the home a strong modern yet tropical personality, adapting to its context and being in harmony with nature
