Classic interiors and design touches in the Architect's House

In a part of Milan that "still has a story to tell", the Architect's House is a space where the classic elements of the building are emphasized by the contrast with the contemporary in a rich eclectic mix

Red Verona marble columns and Carrara marble floor

Surely in one of her most heartfelt interior design projects, Francesca Cutini personally takes care of her Architect's House thinking of the perfect definition for this Milanese space made exclusive by the precious finishes, the double pair of columns, the large bow-window and the terrace: "the discreet charm of the bourgeoisie". Initially tempted to lighten the aesthetics by painting the Red Verona marble columns white and creating a resin floor instead of Carrara marble, she then decides to maintain the original style

The living room and the bow-window between precious surfaces and design

Flooded with light, the triumphant bow-window adorned with precious surfaces welcomes the essentiality of the De Padova Square table. An impressive 23-square-meter living room hosts contemporary design furniture and family pieces. The transition from this majestic space to the kitchen is emphasized by a large arched door in iron and glass reminiscent of the original Umbrian-Tuscan atmospheres of architect Cutini

A terrace with Umbrian flavors in Milan

The grays of the walls tone down the splendor of the original materials and create a pleasant background for the design elements that stand out in the living space. The terrace is what made Francesca fall in love with the house: very much used throughout the year, it is shielded from prying eyes by an Emu umbrella and a green barrier crowned with two olive trees. The Cappellini Stitch chairs in enameled metal solve the problem of any outdoor upholstery that may suffer from the weather
