The PiscYne: revolutionizing urban space with creativity and participation.

The PiscYne is a temporary urban planning project that contributed to the management of the urban projects ZAC Haute Maison and Zac Hauts de Nesles in Champs sur Marne. The work was carried out in collaboration with the consortium of the agency Anyoji Beltrando. The objective was to create an urban area for residents, academics, and employees of the companies.

Urban Creativity, Community Interaction, and Space Regeneration

La PiscYne is a participatory design project by the studio Bruit du frigo, created for an urban space. The project was open to volunteer students for 13 days, who joined the architects in developing the design concept. This wooden platform, inspired by the shape of a swimming pool, provides a unique space for events, relaxation, and socialization, showcasing the power of art and architecture in redefining public spaces.

Urban Area and Design, the Renewal of a Space for Participation La PiscYne is a generous wooden platform of long shape that rests on the ground in front of the container bar. To propose a new topography on the ground, the ends of the platform are raised and meet, offering infinite vine tribunes. The central bridge is thus transformed into a scenic, essential, and modular space that can host events (shows, conferences, concerts...). In the center, a blue surface simulates a pool. Colored boards emerge from the tribunes to offer users the opportunity to work, drink, or have a picnic in more intimate conditions. On the opposite sides, open to the surrounding landscape, a sloping plane becomes a comfortable backrest for relaxation and contemplation.

The details that enrich the project

The pedestrianization of the avenue has been visually formalized by the graphic and signage proposal of the collective Appelle moi papa. The blue area visually connects the street, the coffee container, and the furniture. The site lighting, proposed by Studio Vicarini, gives a guinguette spirit to this new public space.
