The primary objective of the Duplex in Salesas project in Madrid is to renovate an old office space and create a home spanning two levels

In the interior design project by Zooco Design for the Duplex in Salesas, the two levels have the same functional layout with the exception of the kitchen: a living area with a spacious living room and a sleeping area with a bedroom and bathroom on both floors

The curved line guides the design of the ground floor, emerging spontaneously from the narrow entrance that needs to open up and occupy the entire space. The sharp-edged line created by the large mansard roof characterizes the upper floor. Thus, two levels and two geometries: the curve and the edge

The textures of the wood in the vertical elements and the ceramic flooring give the space a unique character and a common thread in the varied language of the floor plans. Oak woodworking volumes articulate the daytime areas and conceal the nighttime, more private areas. Used as a filter, they provide spatial and material continuity to the home
