A special shelter: the treehouse in Halden

The Baumraum Studio responds to the wishes of two friends, Helgard and Nina, who wanted to create a special retreat for themselves and their guests: a treehouse with a cozy atmosphere in Halden, Switzerland.

Environmental Context

The site where the house, designed by Baumraum Studio, is located in a small valley near Lake Constance, full of beautiful oak trees. A place that provides the ideal conditions for the realization of architecture projects like this one. Despite the traditional gable roof shape, thanks to the large glass surfaces, details, and the design of the dark-colored exterior cladding, the architecture is modern.

Prefabrication and Assembly

All components were prefabricated in Germany, and the assembly was completed in a few days by a large team. Inside, the living room and bedroom open onto the gable, and for the cladding, flooring, and furniture, only oiled oak was used, giving it a calm and elegant character.

Panoramic view under the stars

To the north, there is a large gable window, offering a picturesque view of an orchard and a small valley. Above the pantry and the bathroom, small and refined, there is a comfortable sleeping area, from which you can admire the stars through a skylight.
