Yiduan Shanghai Interior Design designs the new HEMU Headquarters in Shanghai. Elements of classical Chinese architecture blend with modernist finishes to create a zen atmosphere. The entire space showcases the harmonious integration between the brand and nature.
The HEMU headquarters is located in the Jiading district, Shanghai. The original building, constructed in the 1960s or 1970s, was designed as an annex to the Huilongtan Park, which has a history of over 400 years, and features a two-story brick and wood structure surrounded by ancient trees.
Based on Eastern elements, the overall design adheres to originality, respects nature, conveys zen serenity, and embodies traditional Eastern culture. Yiduan Shanghai Interior Design designs a winding path that leads to an outdoor space where people can have a charming view at every step. The entire space demonstrates the harmonious integration between the brand and nature.
By combining the brand's various products, such as clothes, tea, incense, ceramics, and books, this place allows people to make use of the space in various ways. Simplicity is the most sophisticated form in this project, so the designers have employed a minimalist approach through the use of natural materials.
The building is divided into three courtyards with different orientations. The facade is highlighted by a large area of windows, contrasting with classical Chinese architecture. In the work areas, there are two low tables and a series of cushions arranged almost randomly. On the second floor, the structure of ancient wood contrasts with the walls covered in concrete.
