The Japanese Isumi Villa redefines indoor-outdoor living

In the tranquil setting of the Isumi River bank, the Isumi Villa stands as a testament to the seamless integration of indoor comfort and outdoor beauty. This house was designed to immerse its occupants in the natural beauty of its surroundings while offering modern amenities and comfort

Blending Architecture with Nature

The focal point of the Isumi Villa's design is an imposing 45-meter-high concrete wall that acts as a background to the sprawling 2,000-square-meter field. In designing this architectural element, Takeshi Hosaka Architects were inspired by the flood wall, standing parallel to the bank of the river whose bed extends all the way to the site

Seamless Indoor-Outdoor Flow

Stepping inside the villa, and we'll find a space where indoor life blends effortlessly with the outdoor. The kitchen's dirt floor connects to the outside, so you don't have to take your shoes off. The living room offers a multifunctional space for relaxation, while allowing for music and movies both indoors and outdoors. The small bedroom exudes a camping atmosphere, which adds to its charm and uniqueness. The garage space has been designed in a simple and functional way, allowing not only car storage, but also a variety of craftsmanship. In addition, it provides access to a separate bathroom and sauna, accessible through a passageway to the biotop, which is a harmonious combination of functionality and aesthetics

Embracing Outdoor Living

The architecture of Isumi Villa was created with a deep understanding that its essence lies in allowing people to enjoy the outdoors. Surrounded by the majestic waves of the sea and the currents of the Isumi River, the unparalleled power and beauty of nature not only provides the background for the villa, but also inspires and stimulates the emotions of the observer. The project takes the experience of being in an open space to a whole new level, allowing full immersion in nature and biodiversity through all the senses. It is a place where one can observe and experience nature to the fullest, gradually becoming an integral part of it and blending harmoniously into its dynamic fabric
