Mediterranean Modern pavillon: combining tradition and modernity

The interior design of the Mediterranean Modern pavilion is based on Mediterranean architectural style, which intertwines tradition and modernity. The way architectural and stylistic elements are combined to create extraordinary spaces that reflect the spirit of Mediterranean lifestyle, where classic meets innovation, forms a harmonious synergy

Exploring the essence of Mediterranean Modern

Seeking a formal framework that would consistently respond to the requirements of the design brief, Paolo Cesaretti's design team found inspiration in a style that can be defined as "Mediterranean Modern." This style, prevalent in coastal areas around the Mediterranean Sea, seamlessly blends classical elements with contemporary features. Elements such as arches, iconic staircases, rough textures and earth tones contribute to its timeless yet modern look. Notable examples, such as Casa Malaparte in Capri and the holiday villas designed by Gio Ponti along the North Italian Riviera, exemplify the essence of this architectural style, serving as guiding references in the creative process

Surrealistic journey in the pavillon's interior design

The interior design proposal for the Mediterranean Modern pavilion, prepared for Cersaie 2023 in Bologna, adopts an abstract and sometimes surreal tone. It guides users through a series of smoothly transitioning spaces, suggesting the environment of a large single-family home. The project seamlessly integrates diverse domestic zones, presenting a captivating fusion of architectural and stylistic elements
