Tenuta Morcella. Tradition and design at the service of Umbrian beauty

In the heart of Umbria, between San Valentino della Collina and Morcella, a historic local farm is being transformed into Tenuta Morcella: a charming complex of traditional structures to accommodate tourists and the owning family, blending contemporary design with the beauty of the Umbrian landscape

Transformation of the family home into a luxury agriturismo

Headquarters of the Nestore farm owned by the Cutini family, amidst wheat, sunflower, olive groves for the precious Extra Virgin Olive Oil from the Perugian Hills and the flagship of the company, tobacco, the Morcella Estate is the subject of a redevelopment project carried out by Sandra and Francesca Cutini. The latter, an architect with international experience, is dedicated to the renovation of the house and turning it into a luxury agriturismo. History, local architecture, art, and design are skillfully blended to give new shape to the Tenuta Morcella

An ancient farmhouse and a drying shed

The farmhouse is composed of the ancient farmhouse and the Drying Shed, both featuring spacious and bright rooms overlooking the fields, the Nestore river, and the typical ancient villages of the area. The ground floor apartment of 60 sqm offers a space with a double bedroom with bathroom, a living room with a fully equipped kitchen and a sofa bed. The 120 sqm loft on the upper floor features high ceilings, a large living room with a sofa bed, kitchen, double bedroom, and bathroom. A second bedroom with a bathroom is located in the loft. Both apartments have a private outdoor space near the heated pool

Fireplace, vaulted ceilings, and unique pieces by Barrel12

The farmhouse is being renovated with two ground floor apartments that are fully accessible to disabled individuals and characterized by the traditional style of the area, with terracotta floors and exposed wooden beams, enhanced by contemporary accents in the furnishings and design pieces. Both apartments have independent access from the garden, and the 120 sqm apartment stands out for its large living room with a fireplace and vaulted ceiling. With the Barrel12 collection, unique design pieces created by architect Francesca Cutini by transforming old barrels into furniture such as ottomans, sinks, bookcases, and bar furniture, many spaces in the Tenuta Morcella acquire a unique atmosphere
