Bicycle which looks like a sandwich. Stratified plywood frames for a home-made velocipede

"The Sandwichbike" was conceived by Basten Leijh, designer of Sandwichbikes, who is inspired by the concept of flat packaging and self-assembly at home, creating a unique and innovative product in spite of the classicity of the object

In order to allow you to build it yourself, you would have to rethink every aspect of the classic velocipede. Instead of a welded frame, The Sandwichbike is a bicycle designed as a "sandwich" with two frames covered with laminated plywood. Bound together by "intelligent cylinders". These components, once mounted, become a durable and extremely attractive bike

The disassembled Sandwichbike fits into a small flat package, making it easy even to ship by post. Everything you need to mount it can be found in the package, including the tools

The thrill of building the Sandwichbike is also part of the experience provided by the designers, even if it is just a one-time experience. The rest is comparable to any other kind of similar experience, but you just need to stop and think about the materials used to realize that it will always be a unique experience

The Sandwichbikes is an initiative of the Pedalfactory company and is fully developed and produced at home. The Pedalfactory was founded by Yno Papen, an automotive consultant and Basten Leijh, an industrial designer
