Concept Store for a Tea producer in China. The furnishings simulate natural landscapes

X+Living creates the first Concept Store for the Zhuyeqing Tea brand. Taking the Chinese landscape paintings as a starting point, the furnishings take the shape of stylised mountains and clouds, thanks to the play of reflections created with the covering material

The designer takes the motif of the cloud and the mountain as his starting point, which he uses in the way of freehand ink painting and transforms this into furniture within the space. The mountain-shaped counters extend naturally into space both vertically and horizontally, and through the principle of the mirror image the mountain is transformed into a cloud

The two natural symbols appropriately describe the natural origin of Zhuyeqing green tea. The mountain-shaped displays seem to be shrouded in fog thanks to the effect of bent panels. The design of the space not only meets the functional requirement of displaying the products, but also contributes to the richness of the aesthetic composition and provides consumers with a variety of perspectives

The large-scale use of stainless steel materials has added a poetic touch to the space. In fact, the texture and colour of the metal brings back the ink on the paper. This new exploration of the stylized mode of consumption has breached traditional forms, providing a sensory key for the consumer that can awaken the five senses
