Resuscitating the spirit of the past by recycling materials from the old ruined barn: House DeDe inherits a natural originality from the place where it rises with a simple project capable of creating a unique living environment

House DeDe is a project for a private client who wanted a new home. The most striking feature of the project is the use of recycled and reused bricks from the old barn to form the upper level of the house. The OYO studio also decided to superimpose the rectangular footprint of the barn with an additional cross section, creating private spaces and framed views of the garden

The interior features exposed wood and concrete. Upstairs, the house retains the rectangular shape of the original barn and houses the children's and parents' bedrooms. The designers were also tasked with adapting a "playroom" into this space which was a major challenge given the small square footage they would have to work with

The designers then looked for another option: they visualized that the entire upstairs could become a space that the children could transform, a space that would allow children to push back the walls of their bedrooms and turn the upstairs into a giant playground
