London-based design studio Duffy London casts a glance into the American West with the new Monument Valley Coffee Table. A stunning visual tribute to the rich American desert landscape, it combines contemporary design with luxurious Italian marble to create a fascinating new centrepiece for any living space
In the design piece, a series of majestic, contoured shapes rise from the ground, merging together into a singular, flat piece of carved stone. "We were inspired by the iconic sandstone rock formations of Monument Valley and an American vision of the American West for a layered marble table that rises from the floor, carved in a way that represents a desert mirage of the original sandstone butts," Chris Duffy further states
Each table in the collection is individually carved to order from a single block of hand-selected marble stone, ensuring that each piece is unique and that no two pieces can ever be the same. After achieving the layered rock effect through traditional carving techniques, each table is finished with sandpaper and emery cloth to smooth and polish the stone, accentuating the natural brilliance of the marble and creating a stunning surface sheen
