Pure design with touches of intense materials: the Colum lamp and its raw wool weaves

The Colum lamp has a ceramic body and, thanks to an original diffuser made of interwoven raw wool threads, it creates an attenuated and delicate ambiance light

Designed by young designer Marie Schumann, the Colum lamp can be used as a floor or table lamp. Marie Schumann is a textile designer who lives and works in Zurich, Switzerland. She studied in Hamburg and at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (MA) where she worked for two years in the textile design research group

In 2017 Marie Schumann founded her own studio where she produces unique handmade pieces, but more importantly where she works with industrial jacquard weaving machines to push the boundaries of material production processes. In her creative process, the designer focuses on third dimensional materials and on the tactile environment in the spaces we live in. She has exhibited her work in Spain, France and in Italy during the Salone del Mobile
