Earls is a high quality, family-run, informal chain of restaurants with 66 locations in Canada and the United States. With an ongoing mission of innovation, Earls felt it was necessary to update their existing restaurant concept. The project was inspired by the idea of anticipating trends in their market sector and offering new experiences to the customer

The goal was to create a unique restaurant prototype in Calgary, Alberta, where new ideas in food, services and decoration could be developed and tested by the company with the aim of reinvigorating this brand. To this end, a subtle mix of materials that are almost elementary in nature and are more earthy and primitive than elegant are used in the interior design: basalt, bleached walnut and hot-rolled steel, in contrast to the oversized chandeliers, intricate glass installations and large photographs

Without sacrificing the consistency in the overall direction of the project, the space is divided into several micro zones, each of which offers a different experience. As the whole space is about exploration and experiment, much of the furniture and lighting is customised: from the cosy 'Lobby Lounge' and the bright, aerodynamic 'Canteen' to the casual 'Beer Bar' and the opulent 'Bankers Bar'; Earls.67 is a fashionable embodiment of the brand's reliability and reputation
