Desire for light and space. Extension of a house with geometric design

Flutter House is the renovation and extension project for an Australian home by Stukel Architecture studio, an addition with a dynamic, light-filled and modern geometry, capable of creating suitable spaces for the whole family

The client of the project is a young family who decided to expand their home. The addition fits well into the street scene with the palette and scale of colours and dynamically competes with the geometry of the original building. The shape of the roof starts from the ridge line almost as if it were a flag in the wind

The upper and lower levels are connected by a staircase and a projecting balcony. The layout of the interior spaces includes both spaces where you can gather for social events and more private spaces. The shape of the roof is designed by tracing the line of the rear roof of the existing gabled roof
