In London, in the district of Islington, an area that has been protagonist in recent years of a real rebirth thanks to the flourishing gastronomic activity, the tradition of Milanese dairies comes to life. Eclectic style for a London restaurant. Re-enactment of the 1950s Milanese dairies
The Milanese architecture studio Vudalfieri-Saverino Partners has created a new restaurant in a district of London that evokes the atmosphere and charm of the Milanese dairies of the 1950s in an eclectic style
The result of the project is a comfortable and informal place, where you can taste homemade and genuine dishes in an authentic setting. Each dish is inspired by the Italian gastronomic tradition, with excellence from the Beautiful Country
Particular attention was paid to the interior design, with a strong visual impact and attention to detail: zinc counters, diamond tiles, suspension lamps, exposed bricks, all materials reminiscent of the 50s. There are two distinctive colours: warm white, which evokes the colour of milk and red which also characterises the external façade and evokes Milanese elegance
The facade of the restaurant is reminiscent of the aluminium windows of the 1950s, whose red access, signs and large windows make the interior of the restaurant shine through, immediately capturing the attention of passers-by. The entrance, accentuated by two curved glass walls, has a semi-circular curtain that acts as a backdrop to the interior " spectacle"
Two counters which are both zinc coated, characterize the ground floor, one immediately after the entrance where you can have a coffee and one which crosses the room dedicated to the display of food
The restaurant area is spread over several rooms, one at the entrance level and the rest on the lower floor, with walls covered with red vinyl wallpaper and interrupted by two glass windows that can be lit by lighting the products inside. The whole restaurant has shelves, cabinets that display oil, pasta, preserves in the style of dairies
