Kozina House, a wedge between two historic houses in a charming small Bohemian town

Kozina House nestles between two old houses, one recently renovated and one in a state of disrepair, in the historic part of a small town in South Bohemia, presenting itself as a charming alternative to suburban villas

The distinctive character and excellent location immediately caught the attention of Kozina House's clients. Amidst the narrow city streets, hidden from traffic, Atelier 111 designed the house on a small area, with a sufficiently large living room with an adjoining outdoor terrace, an attic with children's rooms, a bedroom with adjoining bathroom, a garden and a garage with two parking spaces

Kozina House connects two neighboring houses: one renovated and the other left in a state of disrepair. By removing unsuitable modern elements, original stone walls and small historical fragments were brought to light behind the brick support.

The interior layout was adjusted to make the building accessible on two sides: for pedestrians on the square side and for cars on the opposite side. The large window in the gable of the courtyard facade is a response to the unique view of the church tower. The views from inside the courtyards enrich the overall perception of the space. The new openings were intentionally left minimal, to accentuate the contrast with the original windows.
