Buttrick Projects Architecture+Design transforms Ranch Dressing, a dated home isolated from surrounding views, into a home open to nature. Thanks to strategic additions along the perimeter, it increases living quality and offers viable alternatives to the existing interior geometry

The location on Mount Tamalpais offers direct connections to the wilderness and 270-degree views. Wood-paneled areas and large windows are added to the home, and the neutral white interior becomes a backdrop for the clients' art collection

Buttrick, for the exterior of the expanded living room, designs a gray aluminum sun screen. The staggered pivot entrance door is made of Shou Sugi Ba wood, and the interior features a rich mix of furnishings mixed with a sophisticated collection of art and collectibles, curated by designer Gary Hutton
