Ranch-style house in the trees

Remodeled ranch-style house. From dark, cramped spaces to light-filled environments

In Boulder, ColoraDo, Renee del Gaudio Architecture studio explores the reuse potential of a typical ranch-style dwelling dating back to the 1950s that has been transformed through minimal work and a limited budget into a house full of comfort

Prior to renovation, the home was characterized by low ceilings, dark spaces, and a cramped floor plan. However, after the renovation, the house is filled with daylight thanks to the transformed floor plan

The building has been preserved as it was before wherever possible. The foundations are still the original ones, as well as 80% of the external brick walls. The work consists of increasing the height of the existing walls and window openings so that as much daylight as possible can be captured
