In Melbourne, Six Degrees studio has renovated an old building dating back to the Seventies, recreating a large and functional service centre for university students, highlighting its architectural and material integrity
Through an innovative and extemporary language, the project highlights the architectural and material integrity of the building. The aim of the intervention is to centralize student services in this more accessible and central part of the university campus
Another priority of the project is the respect and strengthening of the features of this important architecture, which has been underestimated until now. The project repositions the old building creating a new "entrance door" to the campus
The building now includes administrative services, an enrolment and information office, a cafeteria, interview rooms, meeting rooms and staff facilities spread across the seven-storey building
The success of the building is due to the presence of the large green space in front and the panoramic views that can be enjoyed from the highest floors of the structure
