The terrace of Maria José and Ernesto's attic was not sufficiently used, both in the warmer and colder seasons. Because of the little physical and visual connection between the interior and exterior space and the difference in elevation between the terrace and the house, the aim from the beginning was to completely redesign the interior space, starting from the entrance

The first goal was to level the spaces to create continuity between the interior and exterior, and then try to perforate the wall facing the terrace as much as possible to allow more natural light to enter. Thanks to this new domestic spatiality, it is easier to work on the terrace, which will be equipped with a backdrop of green ceramic tiles visible both from the bed, the sofa and the dining table

Thus, a continuous ribbon is created all around the terrace, with small cut tiles of 10x10 sizes featuring the pool green pantone, which tries to evoke the language and aesthetics of the 30s. Depending on the position, the ribbon can change: for example, in the partition wall it widens to contain a planter that houses a plant capable of providing shade during the summer days
