"Transparent," an icon of modern Mexican architecture for the Monterrey campus

The historic building, which currently serves as the central administrative location for the entire campus system throughout Mexico has as its design brief the use of murals on the facade and lobby in an attempt to harmoniously extend the original design

FGP Atelier was in search of a design solution that would bring to light the historical character of the building, and proposed the use of murals and a series of transformations, such as the creation of large spaces, leading to the transformation of this building which will be called "Transparent"

The original spatial relationship between the access square and the building is restored to its original state, invoking the concepts of openness and democracy while focusing each design choice on functionality to accommodate and create continuous spaces. The new building is characterized by its scale, shape, material, color and detail
