Innovation and nature: the treehouse in Lower Saxony

In the heart of Lower Saxony, near Bremen, the Baumraum studio has brought to light an architectural project that redefines the concept of housing: a treehouse that not only serves as a comfortable refuge for a family but also represents an extraordinary example of innovative design and sustainability. Addressing the client's specific requests for an unconventional dwelling, Baumraum has created a space that enchants and inspires.

Architecture that challenges conventions

The treehouse in Lower Saxony is a testament to the ability of Baumraum studio to overcome design challenges through creative, sustainable, and deeply respectful solutions to the natural and human context in which they are inserted. The shape of the dwelling, inspired by a longitudinally cut egg, harmoniously integrates with the surrounding environment, also thanks to its cream paint and elliptical windows. The choice of robust and local materials, such as native oak for the exterior, emphasizes the commitment to sustainability and durability. A detail that captures attention is the use of curved glass in the front facade, adding an unparalleled touch of modernity.

An Unusual Dwelling

This project stands out for its unique shape, further accentuated by the cream paint and elliptical windows. The strength and natural beauty of native oak were chosen for the exterior, while a distinctive element is represented by the curved glass of the front facade. The structural support of the house on the tree is ensured by a combination of V-shaped steel supports and the embrace of the trees themselves. This system not only effectively distributes horizontal and vertical loads but also respects the integrity of the trees, incorporating them into the design itself.

Innovative Architecture and Connection with the Environment

Inside, the house reveals a surprisingly spacious and bright environment. The white surfaces, along with numerous windows and curved areas covered in gray wool felt, create an atmosphere of elegance and lightness. This space not only meets the needs of modern living but also celebrates the connection between interior and exterior, inviting natural light and offering spectacular views of the surrounding nature.
