The building designed by Jury Troy stands apart from the dense development of buildings and blends harmoniously into its surroundings with its blocks consisting of three parts oriented in a north-south direction. The entrance to the building is on the west side; passing through the vestibule and the guest area, we enter the spacious kitchen-living room. The interplay of units at different heights dividing the space into the various rooms in the house is quite beautiful
House 1+1+1=1. Heights, light and wood design the house
A detached house, House 1+1+1=1, in the northern Rhine valley on the outskirts of Lauterach Three volumes form a complex structure that moves the interior space with different heights while allowing light to enter from different points
The central dining room, as well as the kitchen and living room are oriented around a private semi-covered terrace to the south. The staircase in the central section of the building leads up to the upper floor via a raised mezzanine that houses a hobby room. On the upper floor are the bedrooms and a bathroom with adjoining terrace
Thanks to the arrangement of the various cubes, the rooms have different heights. The double-height living room allows light to penetrate into the building on all sides, which creates an open and spacious feeling of living inside while still creating the necessary privacy in order to separate it from the neighbouring buildings
The solid fir structure designed by Juri Troy is insulated with wood fibre insulation while the walls and ceilings are clad in fir. The vertical silver fir slats of the façade are treated with a pre-greying glaze, which anticipates the natural greying process of the wood and allows for a smooth ageing process of the building
