For the design of Maison Mouvaux, located in the homonymous municipality in northern France by the TANK Architectes studio, the use of glass and wood material is chosen because it is capable of vibrating light and being malleable at every scale

The house is ideally oriented and is open to a clearing and receives sunlight from the south so that it can enjoy natural light all day long. There is a distinct duality between the ground floor and the garden amidst the abstraction of reflections created by the large glazed sections

The roof looks like a wooden shell that has been hollowed out and pierced in a few places to allow sunlight to radiate in and offer views of the garden and trees. On the ground floor the space is structured by opaque volumes that generate by contrast transparencies and living spaces with wide views of the garden

The project is very rich on a spatial level, the garden seems to permeate inside the house. The choice of wood, besides being a sustainable choice allows the light to vibrate. The wood guides the project from the structure to the design of the furniture giving the structure a harmonious look
