Located on a four-acre plot of land in Dutchess County, New York, a new open, continuous, "T" shaped wooden building whose landscape area complements another "U" shaped stone housing model built in 1952 and another "L" shaped steel housing model built more recently in 2001

Designed by Steven Hall Architects Studio, "T-space" is a housing model "suspended" in a forest landscape, where the main architectural effort was to create a space as self-sufficient as possible, eliminating the electrical current and running water
The new wooden structure, called "T-Space", seems to float on the natural landscape. Composed of nine steel columns and nine levels which are all integrated, it follows the proportion of 1:1,618. The outer part has a natural cedar skin, which seems to be almost suspended on stainless steel screws. The plumbing and interior partitions are non-existent. The interiors are made of painted plywood and the floor is made of polished marine plywood
The construction process took only 4 months. Wooden windows, doors and skylights were built especially for this space. The building can be accessed from the east through a slightly sloping wooden ramp, on the south side there is another wooden ramp which serves as a large revolving wall. Natural light comes from the large skylights, which are cut to obtain the greatest possible brightness and eliminate the need for electricity for most hours
