In Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz, a town in Bavaria, Germany, Kuhnlein Architektur studio designs a wooden residential building made of cross-laminated timber, which guarantees economy and spacious interiors

The building features a living room, a dining room with fireplace, a kitchen and two bedrooms. The constellation of buildings creates two courtyards: an entrance courtyard that is semi-private and a more intimate courtyard facing the wide panorama of the Jura massif

On the already existing lawn the reduced design is inserted. The strips of larch wood, which turn gray over time, fit in with the landscape and at the same time give the building a distinct appearance. The oiled larch windows are massive and create a pleasant contrast to the future grayish facade

Copper is used for all metal surfaces and even the switches and sockets are made from copper blocks. The tables are made from wooden window panels. The 12 cm thick wooden panels used in the construction stretch over 16 meters in the large living room and kitchen area, with beams and other steel components
