Organic construction in Amsterdam. The movement of the sun generates the parametric form

Freebooter was designed and developed by the GG-loop studio and is the result of the study of times responding to a concept of the wellness project, in which all the components are the union between tradition and environment

The Design of the building starts precisely from the point of view of the owners, who wanted to carry on the concept of biophile life in their home without giving up a good project, believing that we are part of nature in a deep and fundamental way, but in our modern lives we have lost this connection

The studio envisages a design of a house and a city that respects both the inhabitants and the environment, reconnecting them both in the design process. "Freebooter" is therefore a response to this, where biophilic design is the key to innovation, balancing the technical aspects of an environmentally friendly construction with the qualitative and perceived experience of an organic and natural space

Among other features of this building, the movement of the sun throughout the year has been studied to create the parametric shape and positioning of the building's shutters, allowing sunlight to flood the apartment and at the same time maintaining the necessary privacy of the inhabitants

The layout, the flow of space and the organic lines have also been created with careful consideration for everyday use and the everyday activities typical of the inhabitants. The construction of the interior elements required a strong mastery as well as solid structural skills. The maritime design was the main source of aestheticism as well as technical inspiration. The construction was in fact entirely prefabricated down to the last detail

Freebooter also takes its cue from Dutch maritime history and especially from the "Freebooters", historical characters who brought together freelance teams to go to the high seas in search of adventure and new lands. Freebooter's design was inspired by their courageous spirit as they explore the new realms of design
