The project, located in an agricultural area of the Baba canton, in the Ecuadorian province of Los Rios has been designed by the Natura Futura Arquitectura studio and built by the local workforce using wooden trusses and glass windows open to the landscape

Surrounded by local flora and fauna, the project is semi-suspended over a water channel and was born from the desire of Don Pepe, a local elderly man to create a space where he could have a cup of tea or coffee with his family as had been the tradition for years

The room, measuring 8x4 meters, rests on two pre-existing concrete structures, which were originally used to build a bridge. The room is configured through its own enclosure through a system of wooden trusses made by local manpower

Through the use of static and movable glazing, the project opens up to the surrounding environment, blurring the boundary between exterior and interior. Folding lattice doors open onto the terrace, where a folding handrail defines the project boundary. Thanks to the river stone side stairs, it is possible to sit near the river and have a direct contact with the water
