The Kita II Preschool. Three volumes in solid wood

Kita II is a kindergarten school complex in Neumarkt, Germany, which includes both a kindergarten and a preschool with dedicated spaces thanks to its two-story distribution

Studio Kühnlein Architektur's design for Kita II includes a three-building architectural body, which runs parallel to the main road to the south and divides into three volumes to the north, drawing two courtyards

Thanks to this composition, both the use is differentiated on the floors - kindergarten on the ground floor of the three volumes and preschool on the upper floor - and the overall architecture with the composition of the three blocks

The buildings are constructed of glue-free solid wood, which is why stackable regional wood elements were used, connected with hardwood dowels
