Transformation of a commercial space in Seattle. Photography studio with a sleeping area

A commercial unit located in Seattle's Belltown district was transformed by goCstudio into a workspace with two main functions: photo studio and sleeping area, which could also be used as a weekend meeting place

The client, a software engineer by day and photographer during his leisure time, wanted to make better use of his living space. The goCstudio studio expands the existing kitchen and bathroom spaces, placed in a box that can be closed off from the rest of the open plan

This box is made of stained plywood on the outside, the bedroom is lined with felt and the bathroom has a Venetian stucco finish. A dark palette forms the backdrop to the open-plan space

The sleeping area has a "skylight" above the bed, providing light and ventilation to the space. The neutral greys of the exterior continue into the bathroom, where a custom-carved Jatoba sink adds warmth and colour. The kitchen of the same brand matches the bathroom furniture and the new dining table
